This month, Prof Paul Nelson was invited by JCU’s Agriculture Technology and Adoption Centre (AgTAC) to present on “Enhanced rock weathering for carbon dioxide capture”. Paul spoke on reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions through removing and reducing CO2 emissions and how ERW may be a removal solution.
He discussed how effective it is, how the removal rate is related to climate, rock characteristics, soil type, vegetation and land management, and what other effects it might have.
