Project partner Carbonaught was invited to speak at EvokeAg in Brisbane in late February, where co-founder Andrew Pedley tackled the pressing issue of agricultural emissions. With increasing pressure on Australian farmers to cut emissions while maintaining productivity, Andrew shed light on the upcoming regulatory changes in key export markets that will impact the agricultural sector as well the prospects for meeting these challenges.

Andrew also spoke to the enhanced rock weathering project led by James Cook University, University of South Australia, Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub and Carbonaught. The talk outlined both how it will both build on previous research and trials to rejuvenate depleted soils and also the commercial potential of the technology across Australia.

EvokeAg provided an important platform to initiate and continue discussions around innovative solutions like enhanced rock weathering to help Australian farmers transition to a climate resilient, low-emission future.
